Leanne Anderson
Elected

Kia Ora St Joseph's community! My name is Leanne and I have had the privilege of being a part of the St Joseph's School community for four years now. My husband Rob and I have 3 children, Jai who is in Year 4 (Kealy 2), Arabella who is in Year 2 (Ashby 2), and our youngest daughter Rose has recently turned 2. In addition to being a Mum, I am an educator in the secondary sector and I am extremely passionate about children's potential and enriching environments that enable them to thrive. Environments where they are empowered, encouraged, and challenged to be their best. I believe Education plays a very important part in shaping our children and as an educator myself, I understand the responsibility that comes with this and many of the factors conducive to providing a holistic education. School and community wellbeing is an area of great interest for me alongside the importance of nourishing a positive and inclusive school community culture for all. I am a bubbly and outgoing person with a strong faith, a great love of people, and an overall positive ‘glass half full’ attitude towards life. I love the beach, enjoy running, reading, teaching, and most of all time with family and friends. I would consider my strengths to be first and foremost my love of people, my communication skills, and my belief in the potential role of education and how it strongly contributes to the development of our children in becoming the best versions of themselves. I love a challenge and I am excited for the future of St Joseph’s school. It would be a privilege and an honour to represent the parent community on the board so thank you for your careful consideration.

Nathan James Bradley
Elected

Hi everyone. I’m Nathan Bradley, married to Jo and we have two children (Ashleigh 7yrs and Zachary 4yrs). Ashleigh is currently in Year 3 and Zachary is enrolled to start in September. I’ve spent the majority of my life in Christchurch and have a long-term relationship with St Joseph’s Parish and School including as a pupil here. I then continued my education at St Bede’s College and then onto Canterbury University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science.

What I love about St Joseph’s School is that it has an outstanding reputation and is well known as a place where children feel happy and secure, teachers want to teach and parents feel welcome as an important partner in their children’s education. I have a genuine interest in seeing the rich and special character in our school continuing as well as ensuring the school stays in touch with innovation and advancements in catholic/primary education that will see our children flourish in their futures.

Where I feel I can add most value to the governance of the school stems from my background and expertise in leadership, personnel & employment. I’m currently employed with IAG Insurance as an Operations Manager. Having previously worked within the HR Management team for a number of years, I’ve broadened my leadership experience recently and am currently accountable for leading key strategic projects that stretch across the organisation, and prior to that, was responsible for our Christchurch based contact centre of around 150 people.

It would be a privilege to sit as a Parent representative on the Board I and can assure parents of my loyalty, passion and commitment to St Joseph’s School and our children’s well-being and education.

Andre de Roo
Elected

My name is Andre de Roo. My wife (Emily) and I have two sons at the school. Jonathan is in Year 3 and Isaac is in Year 1. Over the few years that we have had our boys at the school, I have come to know and respect the great school we have here at St Joseph’s. I am currently employed as a Senior Academic Staff member at Ara Institute of Canterbury in the Engineering Trades Section. I am currently leading the development and implementation of the new Ara Engineering Trades Apprenticeship Programme as well as it’s move into 21st Century Pedagogies (methods and theories of learning). The two main areas I can aid the school in are: Education – I understand the management and challenges of implementing new learning theories. Property - I have worked and now teach in Engineering Trades (e.g. steel construction, general construction and health & safety legislation). I understand what it is like being a parent and wanting the best for my children and the importance of school life. I would like to see all students at St Joseph’s not only succeed at school, but also thrive as adults in later life by having a solid foundation to build on. Please consider me for the Board of Trustees as we all work towards a brighter future for all our children.

Paul Simon Knill

I have had an association with St Josephs for over 8 years through my 3 boys. The school has given all of my children, not just a great education, but more importantly it has set them up to be good Catholics. I am committed to both of these qualities for our school continuing into the future. I have held several senior leadership roles in the banking industry, both in New Zealand and overseas. I feel that the skills that I have gained here will be supportive in my role as a Trustee to ensure your children are getting the most out of their time at school. I have been on the committee for the last three school fairs and helped with school activities as a parent help. My wife is also an active member of the PTA and also our local Parish. When I am not working or supporting the multi-sporting activities of my boys, I enjoy long distance triathlons and the occasional marathon. I have always felt proud that my children are going to St Josephs, and if elected I am committed to ensuring that we can all continue to feel proud for the time our children spend at St Josephs

Cedreece Paul Tamagushiku
Elected

Hi, my name is Cedreece Tamagushiku and I would like to put my name forward to be a St Joseph’s School Board of Trustees member.

I am married to Anna and we have five children, three of which currently attend the School – Charles (Year 6), Lily (Year 4) and Roman (Year 1). I have found being part of the St Joseph’s School and Parish Communities over the last few years to be extremely rewarding and have been thoroughly impressed with the School’s supportive community, our amazing teachers and children. I am passionate about our St Joseph’s School and would like to contribute in making our School the best place it can be for our kids.

For the past few months I have been a member of the Board, and in more recent times as Treasurer. I work at Mike Greer Homes as the Chief Financial Officer and hope to bring some of this experience to the Board. I have really enjoyed my time on the Board and we are blessed to have had some incredible people on it and have seen first-hand the difference they have made.

In my ‘spare’ time I like to run, cycle and am currently coaching my son’s soccer team.
